TOMARIBI (泊まり火) is an independent web guide to private rental villas and small villa resorts across Japan — for anniversaries, workations and group trips. We organise facts (amenities, capacity, price range, area) on the same basis for every property.

How it started

It began with one night at a seaside whole-house villa on Awaji Island. Having the sea, the sunset, the open-air bath and time with friends entirely to ourselves was more satisfying than any luxury hotel we had stayed at. A whole house, not a room; a place's own time, not uniform service.

Yet finding "the next one" was hard — information was scattered across booking sites and ads, with no common standard. So we built the place we wished existed: a quiet, fact-based catalogue of private villas, compared on the same terms.
