GLAMPSEASON is one of the Tohoku region's largest glamping sites, spread through a deep-green forest at Akiu Onsen in Sendai, Miyagi. Its ten dome tents (7 meters across, for 1-5 guests) are each themed on a world city such as Santorini or Marrakech, with interiors to match and a wooden deck holding a cypress open-air bath, a shower booth and a BBQ cottage; three pet-friendly domes add private dog runs. Dinner is a premium BBQ of Miyagi black wagyu steak and cheese fondue, and breakfast is served either in the room as a basket or as a buffet at the sister ryokan Rantei. A Finnish-style trailer sauna by the pool can be booked privately, alongside a summer pool and a year-round night-pool bar, and guests can use the free drinks-and-sweets lounge Orchid and the hot-spring baths of the adjoining Oshu Akiu Onsen Rantei.
