Granmare Ibaraki Oarai is an ocean-view glamping site on the shore at Oarai, Ibaraki, facing a 180-degree panorama of the Pacific and about two hours from central Tokyo. Its ten well-insulated 6 m half-dome tents each have their own BBQ space, shower room and toilet, and four are dog-friendly units with private dog runs that welcome even large dogs with no limit on numbers; a Luxury Dome adds a hammock and projector. An all-inclusive free bar serves beer, sours and soft drinks during the stay, and guests can enjoy a sea-view barrel sauna (by reservation), a public pool open from May to October and a private bath by reservation. Dinner is a glamping BBQ of Ibaraki ingredients such as A5 Hitachi beef sirloin, with a bring-your-own sudomari plan and a day-trip BBQ also available. It is about 8 minutes by car from the Mito-Oarai IC, or 5 minutes by taxi from Oarai Station with a free shuttle by advance booking; check the official site for rates and availability.
