Ichinotani sits along the clear Tomoe River in the Korankei gorge of Toyota Asuke, Aichi, about an hour by car from central Nagoya. Alongside its long-established restaurant serving sweetfish (ayu) and seasonal game dishes, it runs what it calls the only private camp field in Korankei, where guests barbecue in a fully private area. All the gear can be rented, so you can arrive empty-handed, and there are day-use BBQ plans as well as overnight plans that welcome pets. By day you can fish for sweetfish or relax by the water, and at night enjoy a bonfire and stargazing.
