Wood Design Park Okazaki turns a large island in the clear Otogawa River in Okazaki, Aichi into an outdoor theme park built around glamping and BBQ. Accommodation spans 17 individually styled rooms in four types: large ethnic-themed glamping tents, a jewel-box-like glass cabin (one unit only, pets allowed), a Jungle Dome with a drum-can open-air bath, and indoor 'HEYAmping' rooms. Each glamping tent has air conditioning, a bath, toilet and Wi-Fi, so beginners and families with small children can stay comfortably, with a charcoal BBQ dinner and a bread-buffet breakfast. A private Russian three-layer tent sauna lets you self-loyly and then dive straight into the Otogawa River for a 'river sauna' (paid, by reservation), and there are also trout fishing, river play and day-use BBQ. It is about 15 km from the Okazaki IC.
