Dolphin Farm Shimanami is an auto campsite attached to one of Japan's largest dolphin-encounter facilities on Hakatajima Island, midway along the Shimanami Kaido in Imabari, Ehime. Accommodation ranges from the rooftop-deck trailer house Journey and the long-stay Comfort Cabin (both 21 sqm, for 2-5 guests, with kitchen and bath) to glamping units, yacht stays and tent sites, and all guests can watch the resident dolphins for free. Stays are room-only with food bring-in allowed, while a reserve-ahead BBQ set offers Japanese beef, Ehime pork and chicken, plus a steamed Setouchi seafood option. The site sits next to the Hakata S.C. Park roadside station, about 3 minutes by car from the Hakatajima IC; note that pets are not allowed in the cottages.
