Beside the clear Nagara River in Gujo, Gifu, KITEN is a glamping site with an adjoining auto-camping ground, taking just five groups a day. The air-conditioned domes each have their own toilet, bath and hotel-grade amenities for a relaxed stay to the sound of the river. There are four single domes (up to five guests), each with its own interior style, plus SPLENDIDUM, two domes joined into a twin for up to 12 guests with a private dining space, tent sauna, cold bath and cool-down area. Dinner is a hearty BBQ of Hida beef and fresh local vegetables, with hot sandwiches for breakfast, and the covered BBQ space can be enjoyed even in the rain. It is about 15 minutes from the Minami or Gujohachiman IC, and five minutes by car from Aioi Station with a free shuttle (by reservation); check the official site for rates and availability.
