満天の宿IORI

A dog-friendly glamping site limited to two groups a day, set within Wing Hills Shirotori Resort in Gujo, Gifu, with sweeping views of the Hakusan mountains. Each of the two units has a barrel sauna with a cold bath, and guests can use the scenic open-air baths at the adjacent Manten-no-yu hot spring. Dinner is a kaiseki bento and BBQ built around Hida beef and Okumino produce.

Manten no Yado IORI is a private glamping site inside Wing Hills Shirotori Resort in Gujo, Gifu, quietly set within a ski area with panoramic views of the Hakusan range by day and a sky full of stars at night. It takes only two groups a day in two units (IORI I and IORI II, each 54 sq m, sleeping four) furnished with Alpen Outdoors gear, and both welcome dogs. Each unit has a barrel sauna with a Goemon-style cold bath (löyly allowed; the cold bath is closed in winter) and a private fire-pit set, with charcoal or electric BBQ grills for rent. There is no bathroom inside IORI itself: toilets are at the Manten no Yado entrance and bathing is at the adjacent Manten-no-yu hot spring (free for guests), a sodium-bicarbonate 'beauty' spring with a scenic open-air bath. Dinner is a seasonal kaiseki bento with a Hida-beef and seafood BBQ in summer, or a Hida-beef hot pot in winter. It is about 1 hour 50 minutes from Nagoya, or 30 minutes by car from the Shirotori IC; check the official site for rates and availability.
