Kyukamura Minami-Aso is a hotel on the southern foot of Mt. Aso within Aso-Kuju National Park. Its 70 rooms are mainly Japanese-style, split between the Aso-side rooms that look out over the Aso Gogaku peaks and the outer-rim side surrounded by trees, with a panorama of Takadake and Nekodake visible right from the entrance. The hot spring, Shikimi no Yu, is drawn from the hotel's own source and known as a beauty bath, alongside an open-air bath and a sauna. Dinner is a buffet of Aso local cuisine grilled over an irori hearth, including Takamori dengaku and grilled yamame trout, with brand ingredients such as akaushi beef and horse sashimi.
