Kosugi Resort is a large outdoor complex in Otohime, Aso, spread across grounds said to be the size of 21 Tokyo Domes, with eight facilities including golf, horse riding, a dog run and hot springs. The glamping here is the Glandome: five domes in two Nordic-styled types (Neige, Soleil, Nature, Luna and Sirius), sleeping three to five, each with a covered BBQ station and a bonfire space on the deck terrace. Dinner is a premium BBQ built around akaushi 'Aso-oh' sirloin, with sukiyaki and shabu-shabu of akaushi and horse meat as alternatives, and check-in is at the resort's Otohime Onsen 'Yura Yura', where source-fed private family baths are available. It is about 50 minutes on Route 57 from the Kumamoto IC, about 5 minutes by car from JR Uchinomaki Station, and about 40 minutes from Aso Kumamoto Airport; check the official site for rates and availability.
