Cradled by the Tanzawa-Oyama Quasi-National Park in Yamakita, Kanagawa, this is one of the prefecture's largest glamping onsen resorts. Accommodation comes in three styles - 13 domes each with a semi-open-air hot-spring bath, toilet and covered BBQ space; five detached villas with an open-air bath and private BBQ deck; and 12 cotton tents with a covered deck - plus a hotel wing with Japanese-style rooms. The baths draw on the old Nakagawa hot spring, an alkaline simple spring known as a beauty bath, and staying guests may use the large indoor and open-air baths free during opening hours. Dinner centers on a Texas-style grill of Ashigara Wagyu, domestic Kurobuta spare ribs and slow-smoked brisket, with a hearty pulled-pork burger at breakfast; BBQ gear is lent free even on room-only plans, and some domes and villas are dog-friendly with one of the area's largest dog runs. It is about 90 minutes from central Tokyo, 35 minutes by car from the Oi-Matsuda IC, or a 20-minute local bus from Yaga Station with a free reservation-only shuttle; check the official site for rates and availability.
