Twelve villas facing the Miyako-blue sea at Ueno on Miyakojima, Okinawa. Each stands on its own, so neighbours are not a consideration.
What defines them is the heated private pool that every villa has. Because the water is heated, it works year-round. Inside there is a full kitchen along with furniture and appliances, so the place runs like a second home. Several room types exist: the two-bedroom type has two twin bedrooms plus a tatami room and a pool, sleeping up to seven across 115 sqm; the one-bedroom type pairs a twin room and day bed with a pool, a jacuzzi and a gazebo, sleeping up to four across 80.07 sqm.
Miyako Airport is about 15 to 20 minutes away by car, and Tokyo roughly three hours by air. Rental cars can run short in peak periods, so it is worth reserving one alongside the room. On the beach in front of the villas, box jellyfish appear from around July, when the sea warms, until early October, when it cools. Rates start at 144,000 yen per night.
