Marinetopia The Suite is a set of thirteen private villas at Hioki in Miyazu, Kyoto, on high ground between Amanohashidate and the boathouse town of Ine. Each stands alone and is let whole as a suite. Capacity is six.
The buildings take their cue from Scandinavia, on plots ranging from 685 to 1,604 square metres. There are four types: Deluxe Suite, Suite, Standard and Hilltop. Families with small children and parties of three households have room to spare.
There are two kinds of hot spring. Every room has its own, drawn fresh from the property's source. Separately, the management building holds a private bath fed by the Kin spring. A shared private sauna added in 2026 is a barrel sauna in warm wood, and its cold plunge is filled with the Gin spring rather than tap water, which you feel on the skin.
Every villa also has a private pool. Set in the courtyard, it keeps children in view, and the depth steps through 30, 50 and 100 centimetres. Some rooms accept dogs, in which case the same space works as a private dog run.
Meals are taken in your own dining space, the most popular being a glamping BBQ dinner of meat, fish and vegetables. A room-only plan lets you bring your own ingredients. Within a 15-minute walk are the group's own restaurants: Hoshiumi, which accepts dogs, the sushi restaurant Zabo, the bar Bellini, the Japanese restaurant Tenka and the Italian Cielo.
Parking is two cars per villa.
