Maisonette villas on the shore at Nishimachi in Kamogawa, Chiba, run by Rakuten STAY. There are sixteen in all, and every one exceeds 100 square metres.
Each unit has a private sauna and an artificial hot-spring bath, along with Simmons beds, a home projector, a theatre room and a BBQ terrace. Villa A also has a pool and a terrace and takes up to nine guests.
Some units accept pets. Kamogawa Sea World is close by, which makes this a workable base for families.
Access is from JR Awa-Kamogawa Station.Arrival any time after 15:00, departure by 10:00. It keeps no site of its own, so reservations go through Rakuten Travel and other sites. Rates start at 61,000 yen per night.
