A villa-style glamping resort on the heights of Tamano, Okayama, looking out over the Seto Inland Sea. There are nine units in all: eight along the wooden deck area on the sea side, plus a dog-friendly villa on the hillside. Room types are Premium Ocean Front (five units), Ocean View, Infinity Pool Villa and Dog Villa.
Each villa-style tent has beds, a shower, a toilet and air conditioning, with its own outdoor dining space. The sauna is an original barrel design fitted with a HARVIA stove, and the window frames the island-studded Inland Sea. You cool off stretched out on an infinity chair with the sound of the waves. An infinity pool opens in summer.
You can come empty-handed as far as food goes. Dinner is a course built around seasonally chosen meats and pizza, and breakfast comes in Japanese or Western style. Check-in runs from 15:00 to 19:00, check-out is by 10:00, and each unit gets one free parking space. By car it is about 55 minutes from Bizen or Okayama IC on the Sanyo Expressway and about 40 minutes from Kojima IC on the Seto-Chuo Expressway. By train, take the Uno Minato line from JR Okayama Station to Uno, about 50 minutes, then roughly 10 minutes by taxi.
