YU-TO Villa stands at Kabira in Ishigaki City, Okinawa, looking out over Kabira Bay, and takes one group a day. It opened in April 2023 as a 103-square-metre suite with two bedrooms and a living-dining-kitchen, sleeping five.
The two bedrooms hold two double beds and two singles between them. Large windows give onto the bay.
The private pool is heated and open all year. Because you can swim after dark as well, you can skip the heat of the day and get in at night; the night pool is something the villa points to itself.
There is fast Wi-Fi and a full kitchen, plus a dehumidifier running around the clock, which counts for something on a humid island.
Guests can order an original BBQ set built on Ishigaki's produce from land and sea, centred on a three-cut yakiniku platter that includes Ishigaki beef sirloin steak. It is 9,000 yen per person, bookable from two people, and ordering it means the BBQ grill is lent free for the whole stay. Book at least three days ahead; weather cancellations are free up to two hours before. The villa notes that if typhoons halt sea transport or a long power cut occurs, supplies on Ishigaki run short and the BBQ may not be possible even for confirmed bookings.
You reach it by car from New Ishigaki Airport. Arrival runs from 15:00 to 20:00 and departure is by 10:00.
