AFUMI KITAKOMATSU is a lakeside glamping resort in Kitakomatsu, Otsu, at the foot of the Hira mountains with Lake Biwa just ten steps away. Its roughly 8,500-square-metre grounds hold twelve units in four types: lake-view domes, domes with private tub-style open-air baths, dog-run domes and suite villas, each with its own lockable toilet, washbasin and shower building. Stays are all-inclusive: a BBQ dinner of Shiga ingredients such as Takashima's famed tonchan chicken, a hot-sandwich breakfast you can take to the lakeside beach on clear mornings, and free-flow drinks from the on-site FREE BAR, with a fire pit and a first bundle of firewood at every deck. A lake-view cafe is open to day visitors too, and staff are on site around the clock.
