Glamp Dome Shiga Takashima is a glamping site of six dome tents set right in front of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake, in Takashima, Shiga, about 90 minutes from Osaka and Kyoto. Rooms come in three sizes (2-bed, 4-bed and 8-bed types), each a fully private dome with its own dining space, private garden and fire pit, and all fitted with air-conditioning and heating for year-round comfort; a central clear dome houses a free self-service drink station for guests. Dinner is a glamping BBQ using Omi beef and local Takashima vegetables and lake fish, with a standard plan, a luxurious Omi-beef plan and a mala hot-pot set to choose from, plus Japanese or Western breakfasts and a bring-your-own sudomari plan. Activities range from campfires, smoking and outdoor sports to stargazing, and nearby facilities offer Lake Biwa canoeing and SUP.
