Future RESORT is a glamping-and-spa resort in Nagahama, Shiga, set between Lake Biwa and Mt. Ibuki. It has seven distinctive room types, from the Tsuki no To (a private villa with a semi-open-air bath, private pool and barrel sauna) to the Sora no To Suite dome with a Shigaraki-ware tub and private sauna, the dog-friendly Taiyo no To and Dog Cabin with dog-run access, and the wood-cabin Mori no To. A shared area has a resort pool and a bathhouse and sauna (the man-made "Amaterasu Onsen"). Dinner centers on an Omi-beef-and-local-vegetable BBQ, with a shabu-shabu course and a self-catering plan also available, and breakfast is a box you can enjoy any time. Many services are included, such as a campfire-and-stargazing session, smoking experiences and free drinks. It is about 100 minutes from Osaka and 60 from Nagoya, roughly 15 minutes by car from the Nagahama or Maibara IC; check the official site for rates and availability.
