Fukiagehama Field Hotel is a glamping resort in Ichikikushikino, Kagoshima, facing Fukiagehama, one of Japan's three great sand dunes. Accommodation is fully independent: 13 trailer rooms (five of them pet-friendly) and 6 tatami-floored dome tents with high insulation and soundproofing, each with its own BBQ hut, wood deck and hammock. Dinner is a hands-free glamping BBQ, with course meals and a bring-your-own plan also available. The rooftop "TENKU FIELD" has a hot-spring pool, a tent sauna and a foot bath overlooking the sunset, and a central public space holds a marche, pool, outdoor theater and fire circle. There is a riverside dog run, and guests may use the adjoining Ichiki Fureai Onsen bathhouse. It is about 40 minutes by car from central Kagoshima; check the official site for rates and availability.
