Log&Sauna Jyouno-hama
A whole-rental log house limited to two groups a day, set in the forested town of Kihoku, Mie, known for the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes and about two hours by car from Nagoya. Built by a specialist log-house company from natural timber, each cabin has its own wood-fired sauna and cold bath, and dinner is a BBQ of seasonal Kihoku and Kumano produce at each cabin's private BBQ space.

Log&Sauna Jyouno-hama, which opened in 2023, is a whole-rental log-house stay in Kihoku, a Mie town where forest covers about 90 percent of the land and the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes are close by. It takes only two groups a day, in two solid-timber cabins built by a specialist log-house company: the Standard (186 sq m) and the larger Suite (216 sq m), each sleeping one to five with two double beds and an extra bed. Every cabin has a private sauna space with a wood-burning stove, a cold bath and a jacuzzi (the Suite has an outdoor jacuzzi), plus a kitchen with cookware, Wi-Fi and free parking. Dinner is a bring-your-own BBQ of seasonal Kihoku and Kumano ingredients at each cabin's own BBQ space, and self-catering is also possible. Nearby you can try SUP, kayaking and sea fishing on the rivers, mountains and sea of the area; it is about 2 hours by car from Nagoya.
