ON THE CLIFF is a glamping site on Matsushima, a small island of roughly 40 people off Karatsu in Saga Prefecture, where fishing is the main industry. It was created as an initiative to help revitalise the island. Guests reach it by ferry (cars cannot be carried on the boat, so you park near the port), and there is no hospital on the island.
