Rurinohama sits on Miyazu Bay in Kyoto's Amanohashidate area, with 18 machiya-inspired villas ranging from about 70 to 160 sqm, each rented as a whole to one group. Every villa has a private pool and an in-room natural hot spring fed from the resort's own source, chosen from types such as the popular Rurinohama, the Retreat with an open-air jacuzzi, the ocean-view Calmato, and the eight-guest Grande where you can have a private campfire; some units are dog-friendly. The spring water is a rare iron-rich red spring, fully replaced every day so each stay has fresh water to itself, and a private garden lets you enjoy glamping-style BBQ with gas grills, skillets and Dutch ovens alongside in-room meals of Sea of Japan seafood.
