Ruriiro Hills Awaji sits on a hillside overlooking the blue sea at the southern tip of Awaji Island in Minami-Awaji, Hyogo, the area's first all-ocean-view dome glamping site, with only seven whole-rental, climate-controlled 7 m domes and no more than seven groups a day. The three 38 sqm room types (each for 2 to 5 guests) are the standard Aiiro tent, the Ruriiro tent with a private barrel sauna and cold-water bath, and the Koniro tent, the sole dog-friendly unit with an 80 sqm private dog run. Each dome has its own all-weather dining space with a second-floor deck for sea and star views, a private shower and toilet, and meals range from Awaji-beef shabu-shabu and a standard BBQ of local beef, pork and shirasu to a top-grade BBQ produced by the Michelin-starred restaurant Ryowa Daido, with a room-only option too. The Ruriiro tent offers a Finnish-style sauna and cold bath in the sea breeze plus post-sauna snacks at the management building, and there is an EV station and free Wi-Fi.
