This is a single private villa in the Hokudan area of Awaji City, Hyogo, occupying its large site alone. The floor area is 300 square metres and it sleeps up to eight, which makes it a rare size in the Kansai region.
From the living space on the upper floor you look straight at the illuminated Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. It is nicknamed the Pearl Bridge for the way its lights string together, and the lighting runs through 28 colour combinations that change with the season. After sunset the bridge and the strait are yours alone.
The garden holds a large private pool. Being in the courtyard, it keeps children in easy view. A sauna stands in the same garden, out of anyone else's sight. Upstairs there is an illuminated jacuzzi that glows in five colours, so you can soak while watching the bridge and the stars. Swimwear is not lent.
Off the pool garden is a glazed BBQ space called the Glass Garden. It is heated and cooled, so neither season nor weather matters. Meals run to a BBQ centred on Awaji beef, or a chicken hotpot seasoned simply with salt; you can also bring your own ingredients and grill them yourself. The kitchen is well equipped.
Pricing is a room charge for the whole villa. The total does not rise with the number of guests, so the larger the party, the less each person pays.
