Twelve resort villas on the heights of Nanki-Shirahama at Katata in Shirahama, Wakayama.
Each villa has a terrace, an outdoor pool, an open-air hot spring, a jacuzzi and a sauna. Fittings do vary by villa, though, so if something specific matters, checking the room details before booking is the reliable approach. In summer the garden means pool and BBQ; in winter, soaking in the spring while looking at autumn colour. How you spend the time shifts through the year.
Interiors are modern, built around furnishings from Cassina ixc. Netflix is available in every villa.
Four villas, C, D, E and I, accept dogs. For meals there are two BBQ plans, standard and premium.
Booking earlier costs less: discounts are set at 90, 60 and 30 days ahead. Rates start at 90,000 yen per night.
