EZRA VILLA stands on the shore at Shirahama in Nishimuro, Wakayama, taking four groups a day and no more. Each of the four villas has its own pool, a natural open-air bath and a BBQ space, so a whole day can pass without leaving the grounds.
The pools are infinity-edged, running visually into the sea beyond. The water is Shirahama Onsen, ranked with Arima and Dogo among Japan's three oldest hot springs and used by Emperor Monmu and the court more than 1,300 years ago; you can soak at any hour. Swimwear is required in the open-air baths of villas A and B.
Capacity differs by villa: A takes seven, B takes eight, C takes nine plus three dogs, and D takes eight plus three dogs. Villas C and D accept large breeds. Amenities for dogs are provided, and there is a spacious dog run.
Meals are yours to handle at each villa's BBQ space. A dinner-and-breakfast plan built on a premium BBQ of Kishu Waka beef starts at 45,600 yen per person, and the room-only plan starts at 28,000 yen per person.
Shirarahama beach is about four minutes away by car and Adventure World about twelve. Osaka is roughly two and a half hours by car, or about an hour and twenty minutes by air.Arrival any time after 15:00, departure by 11:00.
