A whole-house villa at Okubo in Takaono, Izumi City, Kagoshima, easy to reach from both Kagoshima and Kumamoto. It sleeps up to five, laid out as a two-bedroom with one tatami room and one Western room.
The room has a private sauna. Surrounded by the scent of wood, you raise the heat with self-loyly, then move to the cold bath provided in the room. The sequence runs through to cooling outdoors without a break.
The hot spring is free-flowing and generously supplied. The water is weakly alkaline with a slight viscosity, mild and easy on the body, and carries a faint green cast that comes straight from its minerals. There is both an indoor bath and a wide open-air one set among the greenery.
The grounds hold a fire pit, so evenings can be spent around flame surrounded by trees. A projector, a BBQ grill and a kitchen are provided, with parking for two cars per house.Arrival is from 15:00 and departure by 11:00.
