Villa montpetre stands on the Kirishima highlands at Taguchi in Kirishima City, Kagoshima. Every room is a standalone building let whole, five groups a day at most. The hot spring and the meals all happen inside your own unit.
The buildings differ from one another. One has a custom king bed and a queen, an open-air bath and an indoor bath, a dining area in the room, and a sauna. Another runs to 110 square metres plus a 12-square-metre deck, with six semi-double beds for two to six guests. The only unit facing Mt. Takachiho is 50 square metres with a 50-square-metre terrace, two semi-doubles, one to four guests. A unit of 72 square metres with a 42-square-metre terrace has an all-hinoki bath and a terrace deck, two single beds, one to five guests. Another of 75 square metres with a 44-square-metre terrace has both an all-hinoki open-air bath and an indoor bath.
At the centre of it all are the free-flowing hot-spring baths with a view, and the private saunas. Kirishima is a chain of active volcanoes, and springs are abundant here.
Kagoshima Airport is 40 minutes away by car and Kirishima Shrine about five. JR Kirishima-Jingu Station is about 15 minutes by car. Parking is available. Rates start at 163,000 yen a night.
