A private property at Iimori in Obama, Fukui, where only five units stand on a wide site, taking five groups a day. Mountains and sea surround it; at night the sky fills with stars, and in the morning the Sea of Japan spreads out in front of you.
Rooms come in three types: villa, cottage and dome tent. Each interior differs, so you choose by party size and requirements.
In July 2026 an ocean-view private pool opened. The sauna is a tent sauna, rented and used in the open air. Room sprays have also been placed in each unit.
Meals are BBQ built on seafood landed that day in Wakasa Bay, with meat and vegetables sourced locally.
Check-in is at 12:00 and check-out at 12:00 the next day, which makes for a full 24 hours. Dogs can stay, and free Wi-Fi and parking are provided. An early-booking plan 60 days ahead takes 15% off.
Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya and Kobe are each about two hours away by car, and JR Obama Station about 15 minutes. Bookings are taken through the official LINE account.
