Set in the fully renovated former Yuhi Elementary School in Shimada City, Shizuoka, Glamping & Port Yui turns a closed school into a glamping site. Guests stay in a range of tents - the high-ceilinged OPERA, the suite-style TWIN DOME for up to six, the window-lined DOME and the onion-shaped LOTUS BELLE - each with a gas grill and a covered dining gazebo. Dinner is a BBQ course cooked American-style on water-soaked wood planks, featuring premium sirloin, Shizuoka free-range chicken and grilled seafood, while a self-catering plan lets you bring your own food; every stay includes free-flow soft drinks and alcohol. The old school also offers a gymnasium, a playroom with table tennis and billiards, a summer-only 25-meter pool and a converted classroom workspace, plus dog-friendly DOG OPERA tents with fenced private dog runs.
