Glamping

This adults-only glamping site stands in the forest at the southern foot of Mt. Akagi in Gunma, on the grounds of the hot-spring ryokan Akagi-Kogen Onsen Yamaya Sougetsu, and takes only five groups a day. Each unit pairs a sleeping dome with an air-conditioned dining kitchen, a wide wood deck, and a semi-open-air bath, washroom and toilet that open onto the deck through full-height windows; there are two dome types with Simmons mattresses: the 7 m Deluxe (up to four guests) and the 6 m Standard (two to three). The private semi-open-air bath draws the same source spring as the ryokan and can be used any time, while the ryokan's large baths are open until 10 p.m., and you can freely stroll the roughly 5,000-tsubo grounds with their garden, pond and lakeside deck. Meals are a one-night, two-meal plan whose BBQ dinner of Gunma ingredients like Joshu beef and Gunma mugi pork is set in each unit's fridge to grill whenever you like, with free drinks provided.
