In Nakatoya, Sobetsu, Hokkaido, Oku-Toya Club is a cabin-style glamping surrounded by the nature of Lake Toya. Rooms come in two styles, glamping containers and two limited-number glamping trailers, each sleeping up to four with two upper single beds and a lower king bed, a private toilet and shower, heating and cooling, a fridge and Wi-Fi, plus a private deck. On the grounds a standalone sauna building lets you warm through to the crackle of firewood and then cool off in the open air with a view of Lake Toya (60 minutes, 1,500 yen, swimwear required), alongside a bookable private bath building (60 minutes, 1,000 yen) and a dining hall, while a partner orchard offers apple and blueberry picking (by enquiry). For BBQ you bring your own ingredients and rent a grill set in advance, and the roofed deck means BBQ is possible even in the rain. Open April to November; no pets.
