A hideaway glamping site in the old-growth forest at about 1,100 m elevation at the foot of the Yatsugatake mountains in Chino, Nagano, with just three cabins on a spacious plot. Every room is a whole-cabin of about 80 square metres with heating and cooling, coming in three types: a standard cabin, a deluxe cabin for larger groups, and a dog cabin with its own private dog run. Each cabin has its own semi-open-air bath and barrel wood-stove sauna; the cypress-walled bath is filled with soft Yatsugatake spring water and can be used as a morning bath or as a cold plunge after the sauna. Dinner is a charcoal-grilled local barbecue of apple-fed Shinshu beef, Shinshu salmon and Shinshu miso, with a room-only bring-your-own plan also available, plus a fire pit on each private outdoor living deck. By car it is about 2 hours 20 minutes from Tokyo; free parking is available, and you should check the official site for rates and availability.
