Sazanami is Japan's first rooftop dome-tent glamping, set on the third-floor roof of the MOON JELLY beachside resort at the gateway to Awaji Island in Iwaya, Hyogo. A single 8 m dome tent occupies the view-blessed rooftop, booked by just one group a day, right in front of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the world's longest suspension bridge, so after dark you have the illuminated bridge and the Kobe night skyline to yourself; the dome is air-conditioned for year-round comfort. The rooftop outdoor living area has garden furniture, a projector and a garden sink, plus guests-only shower rooms and toilets with bridge views and a keyless, contactless self check-in. There is no meal service on site, but you can use the Edomae sushi and Italian restaurants in the same building or the paid rooftop BBQ area (bring your own ingredients), while the beach in front offers clear kayaking, SUP and banana-boat rides plus bonfires and fireworks.
