About 90 minutes from Tokyo and just 3 minutes from the Chuo Expressway's Kawaguchiko IC, THE DOOR is a glamping resort at the foot of Mount Fuji. Its five units come in three types: stylish dome tents with two semi-double beds, fully detached resort cottages sleeping six with a 100-sqm garden, and dog cottages with a 50-sqm natural-lawn dog run, and the cottages can sleep up to 8-9 with an optional tent add-on. The Fuji-facing resort cottage has a newly added private sauna and jacuzzi (cold bath) and a roofed BBQ space. Meals range from a glamping BBQ, known for its skillet dishes with melted raclette cheese, to a room-only plan where you bring your own food, and activities include a tent sauna, campfires, and pond smelt fishing or cycling around Lake Kawaguchi. A free reservation-only shuttle runs from Kawaguchiko Station.
