Private Villa Fujiyasan is a whole-rental holiday house in Yamanashi, eight minutes' walk from Kawaguchiko Station. There are only two guest buildings, so two groups a day. Each is two storeys and sleeps a maximum of six; taking both gives you up to twelve. Central Tokyo is about 90 minutes away by car.
There is a large combined living and dining room, a tatami room to lie down in, and a bedroom where you can watch films on a projector. The beds are two kings. The layout works for two or three households travelling together as well as for groups.
Alongside Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a bath and a toilet, there is a fridge and a washing machine. It is fitted out like a condominium, so it suits long stays as much as short ones used as a base for sightseeing. The kitchen holds an induction hob, a hotplate, a rice cooker and a microwave, along with pans, pots and tableware. A high chair is provided.
Each building has generous storage, designed for guests arriving with a lot of gear, such as climbers and cyclists. Parking is free for three cars per building, so arriving by car, train or highway bus all work.
Nearby are a lava cave, a ring-shaped vertical shaft over 150 metres long designated a national natural monument; Lake Kawaguchi, one of the Fuji Five Lakes and a designated place of scenic beauty; and the ropeway linking the lakeshore to the summit of Mt. Tenjo, whose observation deck at 1,075 metres looks out at Mt. Fuji.
