A 250 sqm luxury chalet in the forest of Hakuba, let to one group per day. An 8 m atrium with skylights holds a wood stove glazed on three sides, and the interior is built from 80 to 100 year old Japanese cedar and red cedar.
A one-group-per-day luxury chalet that opened in January 2024 in the quiet forest of Hokujo in Hakuba, Nagano. It has two storeys, 250 square metres, and sleeps up to ten.
There are four bedrooms holding nine beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and an open living room with an 8 m atrium and skylights. A fireplace keeps it warm through Hakuba's deep winter. The wood stove is a Contura Ci51 Fika by Metos, glazed on three sides so the fire is visible from anywhere in the room.
The interior uses cedar and western red cedar aged 80 to 100 years, with 300 mm square domestic timber giving the space its solidity and warmth. The dining table is by Calligaris and seats ten.
There is free Wi-Fi and free parking for five cars, and a BBQ grill can be rented for a fee.Entry is at 15:00, with departure by 10:00. JR Hakuba Station is about seven minutes away by car, JR Nagano Station about 60, Azumino IC about 75, and Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport about 80.
