Kouri The Sweet is one of only two private villas on Kouri Island in Nakijin Village, Kunigami, Okinawa. Each takes up to eight guests aged six and over.
There are three bedrooms: one tatami room with four Japanese futons, and two Western rooms holding four semi-double beds between them. Alongside them are a bathroom with a view bath, a generous living room and dining kitchen, and a rooftop terrace. Counting the view bathroom on the third floor and the shower room on the second, there are two bathrooms. A washer-dryer is provided.
The villa has its own pool, jacuzzi and BBQ terrace, positioned so you look out at the emerald water while you use them, with the horizon changing hour by hour. A penthouse occupies the third floor.
The kitchen is stocked with knives, a chopping board, pots, a frying pan, cooking chopsticks, a ladle, a turner, a whisk, a skimmer, kitchen scissors, a grater and a bottle opener. An outside catering delivery menu is also available. Amenities are provided per guest aged six and over.
Kouri Island lies off northern Okinawa, about eight kilometres around, edged with clear water and white sand. You cross the two-kilometre Kouri Ohashi bridge to reach it. The island is known as the island of love, with its legend and its Heart Rock, and Kouri Beach is close by.
Naha Airport is about 90 minutes by car.Guests are received from 15:00 and depart by 10:00. Rates start at 82,000 yen a night.
