A glamping wellness resort that opened in 2017 on the Tsukahara plateau at the foot of Mount Yufu, in Yufuin, Yufu City, Oita.
Accommodation consists of two units, each pairing a cabin with a wood stove and a tipi. The layout was arranged so that nature stays close, and sound and scent reach you directly.
In 2023 the private sauna Stillness was added, sharpening the property's wellness character. It is a Finnish wet sauna, lower in temperature and higher in humidity than a typical dry sauna; pouring loyly at your own pace is gentler on hair and skin and warms you from the core. Saunas come in both electric and wood-fired form. The cold bath uses natural groundwater, and there is a ceramic tub as well, followed by cooling off in the plateau air.
Meals are an outdoor course built on Yufuin produce, with BBQ and a fire pit. Alongside the sauna there is yoga, reading in the shade and napping, which is rather the point.
Yufudake IC on the Oita Expressway is about five minutes away by car, Yufuin IC about 20, and Yufuin Station about 15 minutes by taxi. Rates start at 79,000 yen per night.
