Fully private pool villas at Miyara on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa. There are three: Sun Suite sleeping nine, and Sea Suite and Star Suite sleeping seven each.
Each is a suite of more than 130 square metres, and all have a private pool. The pool is heated, with a children's pool 50 cm deep alongside it. Because the villa is entirely yours, a small child crying or shouting is nobody else's concern, and grandparents can watch from the poolside at their own pace.
Every villa has a kitchen, and BBQ is possible. Coming straight out of the pool to grill Ishigaki beef and open an Orion beer works exactly as it sounds. At night the pool is lit, and the sky fills with stars.
Two people can equally take a 130-square-metre suite to themselves, which is why the villas are chosen for anniversaries and honeymoons.
New Ishigaki Airport is about 15 minutes away by car, and the town centre the same. Rates start at 180,000 yen per night.
