This glamping resort spreads across a 53,000 sqm forest on the Jurigi plateau (about 1,030 m) at the southern foot of Mt. Fuji in Susono, Shizuoka. You can stay in dome tents (the 7 m Fuji and Ashitaka domes, the 5 m Jurigi dome, and the brick-styled Akari dome) or in an American Airstream trailer in one of three models. Each site is a spaced-out, single-unit rental with its own toilet, wood deck and a gazebo for BBQ, and you can park right alongside; there are also three dog-friendly sites. On the grounds are the reservation-only private baths of Jurigi Onsen, a simple alkaline spring from 1,500 m down, and the MOSS-no-yu public bath open for day use, both rich in the beauty-bath mineral metasilicic acid, plus a Nordic barrel sauna with a wood stove and loyly. Stays normally include dinner and breakfast (a BBQ of Shizuoka ingredients such as Shizuoka Aoi beef and a camp-style breakfast), with a stay-only bring-your-own option. It is about 30 minutes by car from the Susono IC, or about 90 minutes from central Tokyo; check the official site for rates and availability.
