A whole-house rental at Imazu in Kinosaki, Toyooka City, Hyogo, in the Kinosaki Onsen district. A sake merchant's storehouse, kept in care since the Meiji era, was converted and reopened as lodging in 2023. Single-group properties are rare in Kinosaki.
The bedroom holds two semi-double beds and four futons, sleeping up to six adults. The living room has a 65-inch smart television, and the kitchen is well stocked with cookware.
Inside the storehouse are a shower room and a washlet toilet, but no tub. The whole point of Kinosaki is the round of six public baths in town, and the house is built on that assumption. Jizo-yu, the nearest, is about ten minutes on foot.
A BBQ grill and chairs can be borrowed. Free Wi-Fi is provided, along with free parking for two cars; a third or more should be discussed in advance.
Kinosaki-Onsen Station on the JR San'in line is five minutes on foot, with the level crossing on the south side of the station as the landmark. Check-in is handled at Inabaya liquor shop. Rates start at 46,000 yen per night.
