VILLA SAISON FUJI stands at Katsuyama in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru, Yamanashi, with Mt. Fuji directly in front. The site runs to 1,100 tsubo. The main building is a single storey of 178 square metres with ceilings up to five metres; with the annex it sleeps up to 24 across six bedrooms.
The pool faces south and is properly built: seven metres long, four wide and 1.2 deep. It is heated from 25 April to 31 October 2026, and outside that period serves as the cold plunge after the sauna. At night it is lit, shifting from emerald green to deep blue. Deck chairs stand on the pool deck.
The sauna is a rare high-design build, said to be only the second in the world. Octagonal and fully glazed, it runs anywhere from a solar-warmed 40 to 60 degrees up to around 100. Eco-loyly using collected rainwater is possible.
There are three bathrooms in the villa and three more in the annex, the latter opening for parties of eleven or more. In March 2026 the villa's main bathroom was rebuilt with a bath carved entirely in stone. The changing area was enlarged, and the route leads straight out to the pool deck, so you can warm up the moment the water has chilled you.
Off the pool deck, an earthen-floored island kitchen holds a barbecue grill, which means a BBQ can carry on indoors in bad weather. There is a wood stove, and a fire can be lit in the garden.
A dog run of 300 tsubo adjoins the villa, wide enough for large breeds. Saison means the seasons, and the artificial hill on the grounds turns from cherry blossom in spring to green in summer, colour in autumn and bare branches in winter. Beyond the private gate the view changes.
Kawaguchiko Station is about ten minutes away, with a shuttle available, and central Tokyo about 90 minutes. Arrival runs from 15:00 to 18:00 and departure is by 11:00. Rates start at 338,000 yen a night.
