A two-groups-per-day villa that opened on the Yoshimuta plateau in Kumamoto in October 2025. The units are named after states of the sky, and Akaneiro no Yuhi has a wood-fired barrel sauna built entirely in hinoki.

A private villa that had its grand opening in October 2025 on the Yoshimuta plateau in Kumamoto. There are two units, so two groups per day, sleeping up to seven.
Each unit is named after a state of the sky. Akaneiro no Yuhi, the crimson sunset, is the one where you watch a burning evening sky and the lights of the town below. It holds a barrel sauna built entirely in hinoki, from the structure itself to the firewood, so each addition of wood sends up its scent. This wood-fired sauna belongs to Akaneiro no Yuhi alone.
Outdoors there is a fire pit to gather around. The rooms also offer a striking screen setup. Time spent watching the sunset and the stars sits at the centre of a stay here.
There is a kitchen, Wi-Fi and free parking. The wood stove carries a usage fee in winter.
Central Kumamoto is about 60 minutes away by car. Drive roughly another hour and you reach the wide views of Kusasenri and Mount Aso.
