glaminka SAYO is a glamping stay set in a whole restored hamlet deep in the mountains of Sayo in western Hyogo. Teams of architects from across Japan each created one of its four buildings (HAZ, handi, YOUBI and maenomeri), so no two spaces are alike. Beyond the village a clear blue mountain stream appears, and after nightfall only the hamlet's own lights remain beneath a sky scattered with stars. A central community center handles check-in and doubles as a gathering place, dinner is included, and bringing your own food and drink is free. It is about 15 minutes by car from the Oohara IC on the Tottori Expressway; check the official site for rates and availability.
