Villa Gurifarm Shichiriiwa stands on the Shichiriiwa plateau in Nirasaki, Yamanashi. It opened in 2021 as two whole-rental buildings designed by an internationally known architect, on grounds of 14,000 square metres. Capacity is six.
From each villa you can see Mt. Fuji, the Southern Alps, Yatsugatake and Kayagatake. Different mountains stand in different directions, and how they read changes with the hour and the season. At night the stars come out in full.
Shichiriiwa is a long, narrow plateau formed by volcanic mudflows from Yatsugatake. Cliffs cut by the Kamanashi and Shio rivers run down both sides, with flat ground riding on top. Being up on that plateau is what produces the view.
You reach it by car from Nirasaki IC on the Chuo Expressway.
