A one-group-per-day rental at Takaku in Nasu Town, Tochigi, up in the Nasu highlands, on grounds of about 1,200 square metres.
The main building is a two-storey log house with three bedrooms. Add the room in the sauna building and there are four in all. It sleeps up to 16, with 14 as the standard number.
The sauna building holds a proper Finnish sauna. The other distinguishing feature is a dedicated music room where sound is permitted around the clock, which is rare enough that bringing instruments becomes a reason to book. Outdoors there is a covered BBQ space, a large tub and a table-tennis table.
Free Wi-Fi and parking for five cars are provided. Pets are not accepted.You can arrive from 16:00 and stay until 10:00 the next morning.
Rates run roughly 50,000 to 60,000 yen for four guests, with 8,000 to 10,000 yen per additional person and a separate cleaning fee of 25,000 yen. Nasu-Kogen IC is about ten minutes away by car. There is no official website; bookings go through rental-house portals.
